The listing, World War II Japanese Issued Philippines Money has ended.
Made to look somewhat similar to the American $5 bill used in the U.S. territory of the Philippines prior to World War II, the Japanese issued their own currency that included this Five Pesos note. Held to the light one can see a plant design watermark to prevent counterfeiting. The back is rahter plain with number 5 in each of the four corners and a brown (rather than green) leaf pattern similar to American currency. The bill is in very good but used condition and recovered by an American soldier aafter the liberation of the Philippines.
