The lil banshees are helping me this year to plant a :hedge: of Lavender along the back side of my "solar" clothes dryer (some times called a back yard clothes line)

I saw on Martha Stewart ... that it makes a lovely place to dry ones linens (bed sheets) makes them smell wonderful :)

Pleasent to the eye and nose, English lavender produces a profusion of blue-violet flowers on graceful stalks. This hardy perennial is grown for the refreshing invigorating scent of its essential oil

Plant in well drained soil, Add lime to neutralize acid soil. Do not fertilize. In Cold climates, protect over wintering plants with a layer of mulch.

Flowers appear second year after sowing. For peak fragrance, cut flower stalks when blossoms first open. Dry in an airy, shady place either hung in bunches or spread on a screen.
