very beautiful.... Happy Easter to y'all!! I love your little bunnies LeeLee!
I am going to start getting myself more credits so that I can get some of these beautiful stones... I love opal.. did you know it (it was according to my father that is) that is best to keep unmounted opals in water. If it is mounted it is best to wear it fairly often.....my father would be 90 if he was still with us..so.. maybe it is an old wives tale...????????????????? ??????????????
Did he happen to say Why?..I don't know why sometimes when you post on here Capitol Letters will work on Multipal words and then sometimes it will just Do the very first word...I Meant for that Post Wishing the Mothers Happy EASTER to be in Caps. On Some of the Words like EASTER and MOTHERS Etc... I Have No Idea why It Does that At Times...
Opals are 65% water and can dry out and crack if not kept in water when they are unmounted. Sometimes a triplet is made for the opal's protection by putting a dark stone like onyx underneath and clear quartz on top because quartz has a hardness of 7 (out of 10) on Moh's scale.I have a quart canning jar full of opals in their matrix and they are in water until I get someone to cut them for me someday. I have been collecting rocks, fossils, and minerals since I was very little and apprenticed to a master goldsmith in Florida for a while. :-)
