The listing, Antique Brass Goose Book Ends has ended.
This is a nice pair of antique brass book ends that are pretty heavy. They have a felt bottom and have original stickers that say made in Korea. Great for any book lovers and or duck lovers and or collectors. Measurments are 6" Tall, and 3" Wide. Feel free to ask questions and thanks for looking.
My parents bought a pair of these over from Korea, when they were doing DOD shows. I haven't seen them because my parents divorced and my dad died about 10 months ago. They are from Korea. If they came over when my parents did, they are about 33 years old. I'm going to bid on them. They sat in my brother's room forever. He's going to flip. Wow. I'm so emotional.
I really want these. My dad was George W King III died in Franklin, TN June 28, 2013. I'm giving you this so you can look it up. He had a band called George King and the Fellowship who made many trips overseas with the DOD in the '70's & '80's. He was the president of a record company called Diadem, Inc. which brought you songs like "Butterfly Kisses" by Bob Carlisle. Unfortunately, my parents divorced and he remarried. My brother and I came away with very little of him, due to a changed will and insurance policy 2 days prior to his death. I'll keep bidding on them.
Hello, I looked him up and it took awhile but so he was with a Christian group witch is DOD? Thats really neat because my whole family runs a church here where I live called the New Life Temple and my grandfather is the main minister and has a great time doing that. He gets to travel alot also, and see people from all over! Thats really sad to hear that, that happened to you but I'm sure there was a reason you came across this set!!
He traveled until the mid '80's. Did trade shows, conventions with more if a variety show, then did churches, school assemblies (back when they let bands in). DOD was a rock show. But he always preached a short message at each. So yes, that's the story of the traveling ducks...or geese.
