Queen Fabiola has an interesting growth pattern. In spring it is leafy and lush, but by the time the 20- to 24-inch flower stems mature, the foliage has all but vanished, and the 6-pointed blue stars arise on naked stems. After the blooms pass, the plant goes dormant for the rest of the summer! You can see that it is best planted among other types of plants in a full, mixed setting!
