Description
The listing, Antique Wave Clips has ended.
These WAVE CLIPS were made at the turn of the century, the Mervin Wave Clip is the oldest by almost 20 years. The SOLO is a bit newer. The Mervin has. PAT. NO.1889166-Mervin Wave Clip Co. NY-Made in U.S.A. My mother wore waves in her hair all her life, she would put finger waves in the back of her hair and clamp them in place with the clips till it dried.
Questions & Comments
My grandmother did the same thing. I have hers..Great auction.F&W
My mom use to do hair, she had a whole box of them, but I only have the 2 left, don't know where the others went. But, I have her perm curlers , the old ones with the clip and the newer ones with the rubber band and in bigger sizes. THere must be at least 100 or more in the box. I thought about putting them on here, they work for home perms, that's all she ever did when she quit working . She had enough to do at least 4 heads at a time. She loved doing hair. Daddy would really gripe when he came home and she had gave a perm, stinks to high heaven, but he really didn't mind, he knew she liked to do hair and he liked having her home instead of working, and so did us kids.
I think I was blessed to be born and raised in the best state in the union. There is more to see and do in WV than any other state in the union, if you like country and camping, and peaceful evenings. Been all over the continental US and never found any place prettier, or people friendlier than here. Did you like WV?
Yes growing up in WV was the best! There was an old Fort from back in the days of the fights between the white and the Indians called Fort Boreman. It was actually built near quicksand in the woods by my house. I would walk the paths they took for hours making mom ***** but hey I loved to hike. There was a fresh water spring there too and I would sit there drinking that nice fresh cold water and watching nature all around me. That was until I found a rattler from a rattle snake when it had molted LoL! I knew about the moccasins and the copper heads being poisonous but I had no idea we had those around. I did not walk that much after that LoL! I loved and miss WV but on my 18th birthday things happened going up to that and well I wound up walking out with a brown paper bag of my clothes, stayed there a few more months then left the state and have only been back a handful of times. Now my family is basically gone the ones left well we won't talk about them because I do not speak to or ever will in my life again. Now stuck in NE Ohio but won't retire here if I have any say to it. My health demands warm dry weather so I plan on going to either New Mexico or Arizona even if I have to just go there alone. Well have an awesome auction and a lovely blessed weekend!
