Description
The listing, Old nickel possible 1888 has ended.
It has alot of wear on the back or front where the date is i can read the 18 part but am not sure if 88 or 98 I am positive you can read it with a jewlers eyepiece. Thats about ll I can tell you about it Have fun bid to keep. Sorry i dont have better picures.I will ship for free but if you want insurance or a tracking number then that will be on you.
I can't make it out. You may want to try taking a picture with the flash off. Then when it's in your photo editing program crop it almost all the way to the coin. After that if the editing software has an enlarge feature you can ussually blow it up even more. The key is to ditch the flash. If you have to, move closer to a window or light. The flash is too much for a coin like this. Hope thathelps a little.
This is a nice coin however it is not possible that it is an 1888 or 1898 as those years are part of the Liberty "V" Nickel series. This is a shield nickel if the coin pictured is the coin for auction and then if numbers are as you say most likely making it an 1868 or so. This will mean a great deal more credits for you!!! :)
