Questions & Comments
F w b iwal I'm nervous as well, but it's about impossible by a pic on the computer screen whether these 4coins are real or not. I wish he would acknowledge our comments.
The magnet thing!!!! Its a falsity in a way! A rare earth magnet.....which is VERY powerful, WILL in fact show that if you hold the dollar at a 45 degree angle and slide a small rare earth magnet down it,,,,of it slides down really slow....its real! That is THE BEST way to test this coin...this Trade dollar was HIGHLY faked from China...I see it everyday!!! An everyday magnet, even a big and strong one will not stick to MOST fakes....many fakes even have the weight right! this magnet I speak of is the best bet! Without having to ruin it with an acid test!!!! THX!
Frankp36 do you think this picture is visually accurate??? Just weird. Only 2 feedback and brand new and He has 4 coins that are rare and amazing. I want them but I'm nervous.....
I apologize for the delay in response. I have been looking into the coins and their values. After looking at the 1804 coins I highly doubt they are originals, but there are re-sticks that go for quite a bit of money, and I just heard from a Listia moderator that there are .999 silver duplicates that are around $55.
hello Jason..... I have quite a few of the 1804 restrikes..... I don't know who told you that they go for $55 my brother but they are only worth the silver. Harry strike has no numismatic value whatsoever!
To lwal33.... the picture looks accurate but that means nothing! I would have to have it in my hands to be able to say if it is real or not! all I can tell you for sure is that that is one of the most counterfeited coins in history. the Chinese counterfeited millions of those during the trade era. Thx!
look at the rim how it is wide on top and not much of one on bottom. Ive seen this on many fake coins not all but alot. It doesnt mean much but like ive said most of the fakes ive seen are like this.
