The way it works is I bid the most I am willing to pay at this time (it was 75 credits at the time). The system only accepts the least amount of my bid credits to have me beat the prior high bid. If your bid is under my "max" bid, I still win, but my bid amount is increased to beat what you had bid. If yours is higher than my max, you are winning.
