Dill is an annual, self-seeding plant with feathery green leaves. It is used most commonly in soups, stews, and for pickling. Dill is easy to grow and attracts beneficial insects to your garden, such as wasps and other predatory insects.
Dill is a wonderful plant. Not only is it used for pickling, but it has it's own distinct fragrance. The Flower head blooms yellow, and can be picked as a bouquet and brought in for decoration and aroma.

When seeds are developed, cut stems at bottom and hang upside down for trying. Stems and seeds are used for pickling. Providing a tangy addition to pickles, salad dressing and fish dishes, fresh dill is available at markets during the summer and early fall while dried dill is available throughout the year.
