Fanned and bid. This plant has several names, depending on who you ask. It is very easy to grow and only requires little light, so it is a good houseplant.

The botanical name is Sansevieria

fanned and watching I always heard it as mother in laws tongue
cause I also have the really short one and I call it the father in laws tongue.
I suppose everyone calls them something different.

these are very easy to grow they need partial sun and not much water.
Well that is how mine are anyhow. I have several of them and actually mine are not even next to any windows they are getting light from my lamps.
I water them about once a week not much to prevent the rotting.
