Packed with natural healthy benefits.
Biwa Cha (tea) is made from dried leaves of Japanese Loquat tree.
Its a mild and pleasant tasting beverage, with numerous health benefits.
To make Loquat tea:
Pour boiling water over a few fresh or dried Loquat leaves.
Let steep15 minutes.
My brother adds Peppermint leaves (not included) to add variety and a minty taste to Loquat tea.
Loquat leaves are fairly high in calcium, phosphorus, iron, potassium and vitamins A and C. Eaten in quantity, loquat leaves can have a mild sedative effect. Loquat tea, known as biwa-cha in Japan, is consumed either hot or chilled.
The leaves are dried, finely ground, added to hot water and left to steep for at least 15 minutes.
From wikipedia: The loquat (Eriobotrya japonica) is a species of flowering plant in the family Rosaceae, native to south-central China. It is also known as Japanese plum and Chinese plum. In Japan it is called biwa. And in China, it is called Lo Guat in Cantonese, and pipa in Mandarin.
You will receive 5 semi dry Loquat leaves from 6 to 8 inches long. I will add more if they fit in the envelope.
Some leaves may have dry edges from the sun but it does not effect them in tea..
