The listing, VERY RARE Silver 3 cent piece 1851-1862 has ended.

This is a very rare old coin that happens to be one that I collect. In the back of my album I keep some spare ones that are nice but the date has rubbed off. This is one of those coins and it is a Silver 3 cent piece. This is one of the lesser known and widely collected coins of our country. As you can see it is very small even compared to a dime. This is probably not an item you will see come up on listia very often. These were minted between 1851 and 1862 so it is likely over 150 years old. Please ask questions or I love comments. I will try to post another tonite if I have a better example. Just so everyone knows though...this one is actually in pretty good shape ...alot of these tiny silver coins didn't fair so well. Thanks and check back to see what I find

OK everyone, so I checked my other coins and this is the best example I have. The others may have partial dates, but nothing that I can say 100% what date it is. What you have to understand is that these teeny tiny coins were often lost, bent, or worn down to very little. I have seven all together and only 2 have full dates. Those 2 are hole fillers for my personal collection. The others I kept because they are one of my favorite coins. I can auction other no date/ partial dates...but unfortunately I just don't have any full dates I can part with right now. Sorry everybody, I would love it if they all had dates becuase then my collection wouldn't look so sad lol.
