These are a pair of Brownscope miniature 6x15 binoculars with leather case stamped made in occupied Japan. They move and work just like a regular pair of binoculars. The optics are good on these, Due to age/use they are showing some paint loss by the eyepieces. Case and binocs together weigh 6.3 ounces. These are a great piece of working history. Shipped anywhere USA with tracking
Thanks I used my amazing cut and paste skills, and my secret internet Google source....Oh no, now everyone will be able to look stuff up on their own! (fanned you) :-)
My Dad will turn 80 next week. He loves to watch plaines and birds. I believe he would love this to use on his front porch. To see the plaines and birds. We live right not far from the Pittsburgh Airport. So he can see all kinds of plaines flying over. I sure Hope I win these for him. He will enjoy them so much. As he can't walk well now. So he see life from the front porch or the back. God Bless him. Thank you,
During the year after WWII, Japanese manufactures were banned from exporting although American authorities occupying controlled territories permitted the sale of items "Made in Occupied Japan" that were regulated through the years 1946 and 1947. After the regulation was lifted, much of the same tooling was used so the marking continued until about 1955. It took months before Japan could re-tool the manufacturing process from war to peacetime. The Japanese had to conform to a strict U.S. Government identification process for exporting all manufactured goods.
