I am giving to one lucky guy a nice Father's Day collection on Listia - 9 old, old coins - no offense Dads. This coin set would be a nice treat for anyone really that is an avid collector of coins. Here is the list, but now I am not a professional collector by any means so don't ask to many questions, because I probably will tell you I'm not sure.

1 1940 Mercury dime
1 1866 three cent nickel
1 1856 seated liberty quarter
1 1955 silver dime
1 1977 silver dime in excellent shape
1 2011 999 Fine Copper 1/4 ounce round
2 wheat cents
1 USA Commemorative Olympic Sport Medallion

Is the 1977 dime a proof dime?
Because they stopped making them out of silver in 1964, except proof coins.

No, I do not believe it is. Not sure though. I bought it off of another webstore from a guy that was selling his old collection, he did not state that it was a proof coin.

The dime may just be an uncirculated 1977 dime, I am not sure. You would have to cut it out of the casing to check, and I will leave that up to the new owner to do that if they so choose to.
