It would be the very last words in the very tiny scribble under the 8GB insignia on the back in the bottom-right of the tiny scribble. Mine says "Serial No. 8M001N75J". The first 0 (zero) (3rd charcter) means 2010 and the 01 just after it means the week (of 52) of that year. Mine was made during the first week of 2010, which was one of the last of these models. Hope you can find that out, just if you wanted to ever know.

is an iPod touch 2nd gen MC model. It was built in late 2009 or very early 2010. Mine was made in the first week of 2010 because my serial number tells ya. If you can say what the 3rd, 4th, and 5th characters of the serial number is, I'll tell ya when it was made. (I'm on my iPod right now typing this lol)

The iPod touch 2nd gen came outsonethime during 2008 with an bootrom called MB model. This was a moderate proccesor and such for this time but in late 2009, Apple came out with the MC model iTouch 2 with fast proccessing and better wifi capabilities and all that good stuff. But the MC only came in 8GB and was marketed as the "8GB 3rd Gen iTouch" but many people where p.o.'ed when, say, their "early" iPod 3 vs their friend's later iPod 3, was when the later one could updateto iOS 5.2.1 I think and the "early" iPod 3 was stuck on iOS 4.2.1, like me. But I got mine jailbroken with "whited00r 7" which I recomend the buyer of this iPod listed here to do. But officially, the iPod 3rd gen only came in 16, 32, & 64GB. (hope this was inciteful lol)
