It is a perennial, so it stays in your garden all year round. In the summer it gets huckleberries on it and the rest of the year it is just a nice shrub! Feel free to ask any more questions! :)

What kind of flavor do they have? Are they sweet, tart or what when eaten raw? Or can't they be eaten raw?

They taste like a blackberry and look like a blueberry. You can eat them raw, in pie, in jams and jellies, anything you would use a blueberry or blackberry for. :)
