Up for auction is this regal 18K gold filled ring size 8.5. The brilliant princess cut pink topaz is lovely. Ten sparkling marquis cut pink topaz burst from the main stone. Topaz is the birthstone of November.

These stones are laboratory created, but their properties, chemical, optical and physical, are identical to that of naturally occurring stones. Man made gems are much hardier than their naturally occurring cousins, not so subject to temperature change, drying out, cracking or grazing.

Gold filled jewelry is gold mixed with with a base metal.
Adding other metals to the mix also allows metallurgists to change the color of gold. You'll find examples of pure gold jewelry, but pure gold is soft and isn't practical for daily wear. Other metals are mixed with it to make it more durable.
