The Seeds were planted about two weeks before the last Frost where, in deep well worked stone free soil, thin 2-3 inches apart, should not be planted in heavy Frost and from Spring to midsummer. Do not transplant as crooked roots may result. Cultivate periodically or mulch to control weeds, keep soil evenly moist, Seeds may be covered with Hessian or similar until Germination. Expect Harvests to start to occur in late Spring, This Plant likes Good Soil, Sun and Water, it takes about 75 days to grow to Maturity

My Sister's Purple Dragon Carrots grew 6 to 8 Inches in Length and out of the 350 Seeds 80% Germinated, dozens of Beautiful thick Purple Dragon Carrots with a Sweet almost Spicy Flavor. Great in Salads. These Carrots contain the same amount of Antioxidants and Lycopene as Tomatoes they are good eaten raw, the Purple Skin Fades when Cooked, they are Sweet and Crisp and if you Roast them they taste very Nutty. Said to be good sauteed with cinnamon.
Purple Dragon Carrots Originated from the United States. To Collect the Seeds, Bag Seedheads to Capture Ripening Seeds, Allow Pods to dry on Plant, break open to Collect the Seeds. Carrot Seeds and other root Crops don't require the High Nitrogen levels found in Miracle-Gro, if you mix one part Miracle-Gro Potting Soil you can germinate Carrots in Pots. Nitrogen Levels are too High for Carrots in Full-Strength Miracle-Gro Potting Soil, besides I don't think I would want to eat them once they are treated with Chemicals
