Ok correction: it will hold three mineral eye colors with 1 cheek color, or six mineral eye colors along with 1 lipstick or gloss. I checked the Mary Kay website to be sure I gave you accurate info. This is the compact that retails for $18.

Does this have the capability to hold the rectangular eye shadows? If so, how many will it hold?

The compact can hold numerous combinations of product refills. For example, it can hold one foundation or sheer mineral pressed powder and a lip color or three mineral eye colors, one mineral cheek color and a lip color.
The applicator well can hold a variety of products applicators such as Cosmetic Sponges, Compact Powder Brush, Compact Cheek Brush, Eye Brush Applicator and Eye Sponge Applicator.
