Description

The listing, 1 old U.S. Large Cent~ 1833! Partial Liberty! has ended.

Up for auction is this old Large Cent U.S.A. penny from the year of 1833 with partial Liberty this coin does have a hole through it but still is a nice piece of coin to have in your collection and perhaps can be used as a filler until you can upgrade. These Coronet cents are harder and harder to find in nice shape and also have typically been used for jewelry which is a shame. This is most likely my favorite series of pennies and have gotten to the point of having a large amount of duplicates. Thought I would share and maybe trip a trigger of a future collector sitting on the fence trying to decide if coin collecting is for them~ Thank You for looking at this auction and reading my ramble and if you liked what you saw here please view my other listings as well! FREE SHIPPING ALWAYS in the USA! 1.00 to Canada payable via paypal or by mail buyers choice! To be sure and catch any of my future listings please become a fan, leave me a comment or drop me a message letting me know you want me to do likewise and I will!~ Thanks Again and enjoy the Auction!~

Absolutely. Our country used to have large pennies like England and others. In 1857 they went to the size that is common now. From 1857-1864 the pennies were thicker and a whiter color as they were made with less copper they call them "white cents" After that the pennies of the I.H and into the Lincoln series took their more known form. In 1982 they stopped making them out of copper and switched to zinc coated in copper which is one reason why you see pennies that are somewhat new looking like garbage and other pennies that are older that look like they could be new after years and years of circulation. I kind of got off subject..Sorry, and Thank You for the great question~
