These cards are of Emmett Ashford #28/50, Gary Redus #05/50, and Ron Necciai #08/50 the Nacciai is also a diamond short print making it even more rare than the others!! On 2/20/1951 Ashford became the first African-American umpire in Professional baseball. 15 years later in 1966 he became the first African-American Umpire in the history of the Major Leagues. In 1978 Redus batted .462 which still stands as the highest batting average in Minor League Baseball history. He made his MLB debut with the Reds and spent several years with the Pirates stealing over 300 bases in his 13 year career. On 5/13/1952 Necciai made baseball history by striking out 27 batters in a single nine-inning game. Necciai pitched very briefly in the Majors with Pittsburgh later that same year 1952! These are great cards for Minor League collectors, Pirates fans, numbered card collectors and even history buffs.
