Lyle T. Kornexl, age 51 of Hesperia, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 23, 2011 following injuries received in a semi truck-trailer accident in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania . Lyle was born on July 20, 1952 in Mt. Pleasant , Michigan to Mathias and Erma Maxine (Burns) Kornexl Jr. and has been a resident of the area since 1978 when he moved from New Hampshire . He had been a truck driver for Terveer Trucking in Fremont for the past several years and has driven trucks for the past 30 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Holton American Legion, Cobb Trygstad Anderson Post #397. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Era where he served in the United States Army. polise stated the driver was ejected upon impact of the overpass and fell Approx. 200 feet to the roadway below.
He is survived by his children, Lyle Thomas Kornexl Jr. and fiancé, Shelly Storms of Fremont; Elizabeth Kornexl of Holton, currently stationed aboard the USS Eisenhower in Norfolk, Virginia; Jennifer Tanguay of Kennebunk, Maine; 5 grandchildren, Gage, Michael, Taylor, Troy, Trey, Shelby and Curtis; his brothers, Robert Kornexl of Maine; James Kornexl of Maine; Ken Kornexl of Indiana; Paul Kornexl Brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 3, 2011 from the Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel with military rites given by the Holton American Legion Post #397 immediately following the funeral services at the base of the flag pole.
