The listing, Medicinal Herb "English Plantain" 100+ seeds has ended.
These seeds are harvested from my garden.
The English Plantain (Plantago Lanceolata) is a perennial herb plant known for its medicinal leaf value. It has been used for healing by the Ancient Celts among others. The leaves and leaf juices are believed to have blood cleaning properties, strengthen weak lungs, and relieve digestive complaints among many other medicinal properties. Plantain is edible and medicinal, the young leaves are edible raw in salad or cooked as a pot herb, they are very rich in vitamin B1 and riboflavin.
The leaves can also be used for detoxifying through the soles of the feet. The dried flowers with seeds are very fragrant and may have other applications as well!
This is a wonderful little plant!
English Plantain grows best in full sunlight and prefers dry soil that is somewhat heavy and contains clay, but will also grow in partial shade (in which case the foliage becomes somewhat taller and larger) and in other kinds of soil. It withstands regular mowing and some trampling by animals, or in my case, a toddler :)
These plants are VERY resilient, they are doing great in the super hot sun where everything else just wilts away!
I will give you 100+ seeds, this is enough to have a small field as I do. They are very lovely to look at, rich green leaves all season and beautiful black flowers in early spring. Info says blooms brown, but they look black to me!
