this thing will not work in any of today pc's it will not even fit in it it use the old brown pci slot xp would not even work on that old pc the ram is edo ram or crap ram for xp to to wrok beautifully it needs a min of 1gb ddr 400 mhz ram or more wow whoever wins this iwill be hard to find drivers and a motherboard that this will fit in
Let me test that theory and get back to you. The pc I took it out of was an old P4 I think it had 512MB of pc 2100 memory. I gave the PC to my father in law and upgraded the ramm to pc 3200 and put in an ATI 256MB PCI card. I'm going to put this card in one of my systems and see if it'll work. Give me an hour and I'll let you know.
I tried it on 2 of my older systems. Both are running vista umtimate. the oldest has a 2.6GHZ processor and 1GB of pc 3200 memory. It did work on either PC. So NY is probably right. If you bid, make sure you're running an old system.
This card WILL work in any non-Apple PC with a PCI slot (the white slots). I hate to break it to everyone but this is only a 1MB Card. upgradeable to 2MB. S3 Trio 64V+ is the chipset. The two empty brown sockets at the top of the card are called DIP Sockets. At the time when this Card came out (2001) you could buy two 512K chip to stick in these sockets. This card is still good for testing systems or running an older OS.
Sorry typo, this card came out in 1995 not 2001. It was very popular back then and the drivers aren't very hard to find, asuming you are going to use it on an older system (Win95, Win98, older Redhat, etc...)
