I stumbled upon this wonderful & very Unique bracelet, in my Office/Craft Room, as I was looking for jewelry items to list for my Listia friends~~~

I had totally forgotten about it & a huge Flood Gate of emotions & memories just about drowned me in the process ~~

I purchased this at a "Junk" shop, on the coast of Maine in the early 1970's. I was a wandering Hippie Girl, living in a tent in the woods & eating lots of Granola & Sprouts ~~ Lol !!!
I actually still do eat a lot of Granola & Sprouts but that was a simpler time of Peace, Love & Flowers ~~~ & as usual~~ I digress !!!!

What really drew me to the bracelet was the beads. They are FABULOUS! Iridescent & ever changing from Violet to Royal Blue to Teal & back again. Just like Peacock Feathers, hence the terminology, Peacock Beads~~ There is also a great similarity to Carnival Glass colorization.

These beads are interspersed with solid gold beads to enhance the composition.

The beads are strung on very thin cloth string, that stretches a bit. After time, most of the stretch is gone, as shown in the photos. It's still very wearable but also very delicate & would be best served by being re-strung.
At rest it measures about 7" but can be stretched a bit to be placed on your wrist.
I remember the owner of the "Junk" shop where I got it so long ago saying" Yep, they just don't make um like that, no more"
& I agree ;0)
