Questions & Comments
Hi, I just wrote to you about the fan palm. I can't answer your question about the plants but would be very interested in the Prickly Pear. Let me know if i would be able to one or more if i am the winner. Thanks so much. Bonnie
Yes I will be clipping some and posting some. The cactus is huge if I could stand straight it would be over 4 feet tall. And s booming flowers. That's how I found it. I saw this bright yellow flower poking out of these vines. I will post a pic soon.
What a nice mess! When I have a problem like yours, it is easy to identify: poison ivy. And yes, I will gladly send you many starters....FREE SHIPPING. Seriously, one of the pictures made me think of an unusual holly; there is one three blocks from here that I would love to have even though I don't care that much for holly. But it is on property now belonging to the National Park Service; they bought several homes near me to tear down to protect the water shed.....letting the land go back to "natural". Also, one plant looked "kinda" like one type of muscadine, a vine and the fruits make fabulous jelly; my favorite second only to wild plum!! (And, yes, I finally got a friend out in the country to bring me one a few years back and now I have wild plums sprouting up every year.) And neither of my "guesses" may be any where near right. At least I can assure you that you did not picture any poison ivy....that is the plant that I am an authority on and have the itching "blisters" to prove it! Shore would luv to send you some starters!!!!!!!
I will private msg you my addy and whatever you send I will start for you, not a problem. I am so glad you said it is not poison ivy my old man kept telling me to leave it alone cuz it was I kept saying it wasn't cuz I would be broke out by now lol.
Any time you need a plant identified, take fresh samples to your local state Cooperative Extension Office. If they cannot identify it in the office, they will send it to their lab to be identified. You are lucky that your Extension office works with the experts at Clemson University. Go to http://www.clemson.edu/extension/county/horry/ for more info. I know this because I work for a Virginia Cooperative Extension Office and we are constantly identifying plants and sending samples off to have diseases diagnosed - although we can often identify them in the office. They can also identify insects. It's a great, free resource for research-based information!
Thanx But I am disabled and don't drive. I have to ask people to take me everywhere & hate having to ask so I try not to ask for to much. Which is why I was hoping someone would recognize them.
The second pic looks a bit like chokeberry. If it is, it's poisonous, although some people cook the heck out of it and eat it. The 5th pic looks like a live oak or water oak.
