The listing, BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE 1928 JEWELRY COMPANY ANTIQUED YELLOW TONE ESTATE BROOCH IN THE ORIGINAL BOX has ended.

Don't you love it when something comes in its original box. Here we have a lovely filigree brooch from 1928 Jewelry Company. The company is no longer in business. This company made replicas of jewelry from that era. Nicely made costume jewelry. I have several pieces. So a few more may find their way to Listia. Always glad to answer any questions. Smoke free and pet free home. Thank you for looking and Happy Bidding! Please only Listia verified addresses. All Listia rules applied. I do not do GINS so please don't ask me, nor do I lessen days. Very pretty! Does the stone seem a greenish color more than yellow?...hard to tell with the bright light...thanks.

Sorry, but the 1928 jewelry co. Is still in business. They do make replicas of vintage and antigue jewelry but just started their business in 1968. They can be found at Macy's and other stores. They make beautiful pieces, like the one shown here.

I stand corrected, the store where I used to buy 1928 no longer carried it i was told. And then I reading on Listia on a piece of 1928 I was watching where it had stopped making jewelry. I guess you can't believe everything you read on here. Lol. My apologies. I won't make that mistake again.

Common error on the 1928 jewelry line. So many people don't know the difference between the new pieces and the pieces made in the 80s which is when 1928 was in their heyday!! Although they started out in 1968 those pieces are few and far between. More commonly found are pieces from the 80s but an experienced eye can usually tell the difference. Good luck!!

Thanks Jlynn. I suppose it is easily confused. I should have done my homework rather than believe all that read. Nice to hear from you. :o)

A good indication, if that's the box it came in, is to look under the material at the hinges. Research online the early style hinges compared to the modern style hinges. Just by what I can see in the pics, prong style (setting) and clasp attachment, also condition of box, I'm pretty sure this is def an 80's piece. Regardless of age though, it's still a great piece to add to your collection and I would enjoy adding it to mine if possible. F&W&B. ^~^

Although, just to be on the safe side, I would, if possible, add "possibly an 80's repo" OR add "Possibly" in front of "Vintage" to the title. Just in case, so you will be covered regardless of the age of the piece. ^~^

Thanks for the info Doodle. I will check out the hinges. Even an 80s piece is vintage by definition. Lol. There has been so much commotion over this listing I'd just take it down if I could. Thanks for fanning me, I Fanned you back.

Just an FYI Doodle and to other possible bidders, the stones are not pronged. It looks to me like they are glued or some other way of attachment. But no prongs. I Don't want or need any more commotion.

I wouldn't take it all as negative,,,,just friendly comments is all. Def not meant to make you feel that way. Regardless, it's an absolutely beautiful piece and a great addition to any jewelry collection. I'll be bidding,,,,so, glad it's here to stay. :) ^~^

Thanks Doodle. Good luck bidding. I know it's been with the best intentions. It's just that I can't correct my mistake. I'm an honest person and I hate thinking some people could have been misled in error. But thank you for your kind words.
