What happened to the joy sticks

If you are talking about those dotted spots around the top, I guess it is dirt spots

There is supposed to be a silicon cover over each joy stick and those dots in the picture are anchor points for the silicon thumb pads. My cats ate mine off when I went on vacation and the joysticks looked like this picture
