This is a kit to dye your hair red, enough for shoulder length hair. Product is meant for DARK HAIR ONLY. Kit comes with one tube of L'oréal HiColor HiLights in red(Unused and unopened), one 8oz of 30 developer(unused) and one brand new pair of gloves size medium. I bought this last month for future touch ups but decided to dye my hair another color. For instructions on mixing I looked up videos on YouTube.

Would it light my hair color? I want to take the burgundy hair color away to a actual red color I just don't know how I am just wondering .

I wouldn't recommend coloring over colored hair. The tube of dye contains small amount of bleach so it'll make it difficult for the bleach to lighten colored hair to show the red.

This dye is meant for dark hair only.

This comes with what you see. The red dye has bleach in it which is activated by the developer, lightening and coloring all at the same time.

You'll need a bowl to mix it in a brush to apply it.

FYI. One step process. BLEACHES and colors. Should be used with a 20 volume devolved, unless coarse or very dark colored hair.
