The listing, 27 ANTIQUE German GERMANY Lot POSTCARDS Montabaur KEIL Treves + 1 Hungary has ended.

Up for auction is a lot of 27 Germany postcards. And, as luck would have it, there is one from Hungary that somehow got in with the lot, so you get that one too!

They were sold to me about 12 years back as Germany, and I tried to look them all up and translate, but not an easy job!

Condition ranges from average, with some creasing, corner wear or discoloration, to excellent. 4 have actually been posted, but some of the others have writing on. Please check scans for individual condition.

The first 8 pictured (Kiel) are unused. One was glued in an album and has extra paper attached to the back half where it was removed from the album. The rest have a tiny bit of excess paper attached at the top and bottom. Other than that, the cards are in pretty nice condition!

The album the first eight were taken from originally belonged to a sailor stationed in or around Germany in 1920. They are beautiful cards, and the sailor's album pages they were on said "Sailed through Kiel Canal, August 23, 1920".

The remainder of the cards pictured were from a different source. 3 are of Montabaur (one of the main street according to writing on the back, and two of the castle – notice the USA flag flying in the shot and that one is a real photo).

One has glitter added; one is of military personnel standing by a monument. One is from the Hamburg – Amerika Line (undivided back).

There is one titled: "Advance General Headquarters American Expeditionary Forces, Government Building, Treves, Germany", and on the back is the USA flag with a poem entitled "With The Colors", that I have scanned by itself.

Just a lot of different old German postcards, and a neat lot I should think, for any collector of Germany postcards.
