HI, this auction is for what the title states, a 1974 Hawaii dollar Honolulu, with a block on the back with a number 1846 in it, bottom of coin has chamber of commerce Hawaii, top of back has aloha from Hawaii. as you can see it needs to be cleaned,has green on it from age? not in mint shape, but it is the only one I have found with a number on the back, even though I have no idea why its there. I don't know a thing about coins, so am describing this to the best of my ability. and any info about it is certainly appreciated. enlarge to see best and thanks.

Questions & Comments

First I would not clean this as most collectors don't like cleaned coins. Second this is a numbered Token that was probably created by the Chamber of Commerce to raise money. How this works is the CofC makes a bunch of these coins and sells them for $1.00 then folks either use them at local merchants in which the CofC will reimbuse or they simply take them home as souveneirs and the CofC gains the $1.00.
