The listing, Antique Mother of Pearl pillbox has ended.

This is so pretty and very old. It is brass inlaid with Mother of pearl and a floral design. It is a personal ashtray? or pillbox? It looks as if it was used as an ashtray from the mark on the inside. it is in excellent condition for its age. measures about 2 inches long. Will ship free to a listia verified address.

actually it is an antique pocket ashtray, I just found out from my grandma. It is sometimes used for keeping small items secure in travel, but its original purpose was for convenient use of smoking anywhere. They called them butlers or personal pocket ashtrays. =)
