As you can see in the photos, the collection includes florals, dots, swirls, leaves, two pieces with metallic gold accents, turtles, and other designs. What are batiks?

Batiks are fabrics made by a wax-resist dye method. Wax is applied from a spouted tool or with a roller and then the fabric is dipped in dye. The fabric is then put in hot water and the wax comes off, leaving those areas undyed. The method can be repeated for multiple colors. The most famous batiks are made in Indonesia, but many Asian countries have a history of making batiks.
