It's not rude......it's a one-stop place to recharge your electronics instead of searching for your charging cords; everything is in one place. So if you put the charging unit on your desk you can have 3 charging cords inside it, plugged into the unit. Then when you get home you just plug in your phone and set the adjustable grip and leave it. Same with an mp3 player or some hand-held game players. I hope that helps!
