Geez, it was SO HARD to list this! Up until the last minute, I was putting it on, and trying to convince myself that I really don't need another ring! But, it's soooo cute! Ugh - okay, I have to be strong, so it's going on here. Hurry and put a bid on it so I can't change my mind! This is a totally adjustable ring, which doesn't look like an adjustable ring. It is a gorgeous and large sugar skull, with an antiqued patina, BIG rhinestone bling-y eyes, and a multi-colored flower on its forehead. View all the photos to see the front and the back. I have it on my ring mandrel to show how it can easily go from a size 6.5 - 7.0 up to a size 10.0. This is definitely a ring that will get noticed, in a very good way. It's brand new, so it's a great option for a gift. Even better? How about a gift for yourself? There are a LOT of photos of this. That alone should tell you how much I love it. No GIN on this one. Well, there's 14 days left - a whole two weeks! - that you can list items to get more credits. Since you're a newbie, you're going to have to wait until the winners of your first ten auctions receive what you're auctioning before you get your credits from them automatically. Ideas? List a bunch of 3 or 4 day real-life items, so the shipping turn-around time falls within that two weeks, or list a bunch of digital delivery items, where you'll get your credits as soon as they check they've received it. Or, you can go take advantage of the special offers, watch videos, or take surveys for credits. Good luck! ✰

What does the term Sugar Skull mean ?

Sugar Skulls are part of the Dia de los Muertos (or Day of the Dead) celebration in Mexico. They are the skulls that you see decorated like this, and in brighter colors. The traditional ones are made of sugar (hence the name,) or clay. The sugar, because Dia de los Muertos is a holiday that celebrates the spirits of children that have passed on, and what do children like to eat more than sweets? Anyway, during this celebration, it is believed that the gates of Heaven are opened to the children who have died, and they can come back to Earth to visit with relatives. The Sugar Skulls are used to adorn the altars and tombs with a sugary delight for the visiting spirits.

Of course, probably 80% of people who wear Sugar Skull items in the USA don't know this, and they wear them only because blingy skulls are hot right now. But you asked, and I got a chance to give you an appropriate answer. Yay! So, you can wear them because they're pretty, or you can wear them because they're pretty AND to honor your dead. ✰

Seeing as my father-in-law was born in Michoacan, Mexico I should have known that. My teenage daughter is going through a goth phase and has skulls everywhere so I'm hoping to win this for her and now with the knowledge you've provided I know this will also tie in nicely with her Mexican heritage.
