Questions & Comments
Fanned, watching and bidding. Yes, it's imperative to have a radio that operates with batteries. I've lived in the Midwest almost my entire life and was in OKC for the first F5 tornado, let alone the ice storms every year that knock down power lines, etc. Once, we were without power for nearly 2 weeks, it was so bad - and we had no way to find out what was going on. I was also in Louisiana for 18 months and faced off 3 hurricanes in that amount of time (pre-Katrina, late 1980's), plus I grew up with an AM transistor radio that worked a lot better than some new ones do. Thank you for offering this. I'd also like to have one of those older weather and police band radios, but haven't seen one for sale in quite awhile. People can scoff all they like - until they don't have electricity anymore - or at least a radio or laptop or something.
