Description

The listing, Antique Pick a book auction has ended.

My other pick a book went well so I thought I would do the same with this one too. I do not need all of these books, the thrift store was going to toss them so she gave them to me. Some are not in the best shape but they are also old.I have received these books in this condition. If you do not like it do not bid. Some people have a love of antique books Some don't.

This is how it works.
1. Get it now will get you ALL the books listed.
2. If no one uses the Get it now the winner will get to pick ONE book.
3. I will take out the picture and the listing for the book taken and re list until all the books are gone.

List of books...by photo too.
1-3 Ruth Fielding In the Saddle - By Alice B, Emerson. copy-write 1917. Hard Back

4-6 How Green was my valley - by Richard Llewellyn Lloyd. Copyright 1940. Soft back

7-9 Burton Street Folks - by Anna Potter Wright Copyright 1913. Soft back

10-12 The Lost twins - By Blanche Margaret Milligan - i can not find a copyright date. There is some writing inside the book. I'm sure it can be erased carefully, if you know how as to preserve the book itself. Hard back

13-15 The gift of Sarah Barker - by Jane Yolen. Copyright 1981 softback. I know this one isn't as old.

16-18 The neighborhood shop - by Julia L. Glover no copyright date. There is some writing on the front cover... with that history the person who signed the book has passed away recently. I do believe he was well in his 90's. And the person he wrote it to has also passed away, she was i think in her 80's. hardback

19-21 The wonderful year - by Nancy Barnes. copyright 1946. Hardback

22-24 Three ships of the desert - by Frank Hofman. no copyright date and spine is torn. Hardback

25-27 Swiss family robinson - by Jean Rudolph Wyss. No copyright, but, inside front cover it says it was given to someone June 4, 1938. Hard back

45 minutes to get to a Walmart!? OMGosh! I thought places like that only existed in a fantasy world! LOL... must be nice!

Lol, Which is sad considering I used to live 5 minutes from one in Denver and it still took me that long. We do still exist, rural life... where people care, people wave as you pass and care just because they want to.

PaulinaB I hear you I'm in a nice little Ohio town and we came from Florida. I'm never moving back either! Everyone thinks we're crazy but they just don't get it.

That is so true, once you've lived in a large city and then move to small towns... no one gets it.

It's nice to find other people who cherish books. And Wal-Mart is miles away from my village in Ohio which is nestled in a lovely green valley surrounded by forest. I'm from Calif, and I'm never going back. lol

I fanned you-I love old books!! This is a great auction. I'll be watching it! I get a lot of old books from a nearby antique store and my sil just hit an awesome garage sale for me. I found one book written in by 2 girls that my mom knew growing up-they were 12 & 14 then and are now in their 60's so that was neat. My town has less than 300 people so I know where you're coming from-no Walmart here, either! Anyway, thanks for listing these!!

Boy, that's awesome that the thrift store just gave them to you! Out here, the major thrift store in my area (America's Thrift Store) would just as soon burn there discarded books than to let anyone HAVE them! They even go so far as having bums arrested for going through their dumpsters. Sad, but true ;-(
