The listing, Minty Boost! - Build Your Own Portable USB Charger! Fun Project has ended.

This auction is for a kit to build your own USB device charger. It comes with the kit and the altoids case to put it in. Basically its a battery operated charger with a USB adaptation inside of an altoids mint case. Very cool and fun project.
For this you will need a soldering gun to complete it. The package comes sealed with the parts and a link for the instructions to build it.
Very fun and easy project for teens or adults interested in electronics.

SPECS:
* 5V output @ 500mA output
* Fits in your pocket
* Recharges just about any gadget with a USB cable
* Uses any AA batteries!
* Upgrade to C or D cells for a mega battery pack

Some numbers...

* iPhone (all types): 3/4 full recharge
* iPod video (tested, using alkaline batteries): 3hrs more video (1 full recharge)
* iPod mini (tested w/rechargables): 26 hours more (1.5 full recharges)
* iPod nano: 4 full recharges!
* iPod shuffle : 60 hours more , 5 full recharges!

This project is suitable for beginners, some soldering tools are necessary but even if you've never soldered before it should be pretty easy.

There is no on off switch. Its after you plug a device in it starts charging

wow thats nice that would really be useful with my phone cause it always dies well i always be like on the internet or just txting but that would be really good to have......and would you be listing more of these latter on?

There are some tutorials on youtube that you can build and watch along with. If you use the instructions and watch a tutorial video online it is pretty easy. Just take your time if it is your first time doing this

No you need the gun for it. The kit has around 8 parts that you need to solder together
