I just tried a few different magnets and it didn't stick.

OK... let me clarify this for you kelley....... I buy precious metals for a living, and actually have my own store.... Here is the "RULE" when it comes to using a magnet.... first off.... it needs to be a very strong magnet.... if it sticks to the magnet it is NOT real.... BUTTTTT .... just because it doesn't stick.... does NOT mean it is real.... it simply means that the alloys used in the item are not magnetic. Please keep in mind, that items such as gold bracelets, necklaces, and lever back earrings... all have springs in them, so it will stick at the clasp... but the chain or bracelet itself should not stick. The best thing to do, if you plan on listing an item that your curious about the metal content is to simply have it tested by an expert, so you will be certain of what your offering.
