****************************
This is for at least 10 seeds of my Lilac/pink colored Joey Ptilotus Seeds from last years (2013) season.

***Here is info for planting these from internet***
Joey is not only attractive, but also exhibits both heat and drought tolerance. Large, 3-4" bottlebrush spikes start out a glistening silver color, then gradually darkens to neon pink near the tips. The feathery spikes crown attractive thick silvery foliage of the 12-18" plants for a pleasing effect. Use Joey as an accent plant in mixed containers, or massed in the garden.

Growing Joey Ptilotus From Seeds
Germination:
5-7 days at 70-72 °F
Plug Culture:
Stage 1 requires light for germination.
Cover seed lightly with vermiculite after sowing.
Stage II moderate soil moisture levels.
Stage III: Gradually lower temperatures to 66-68 °F and lower soil moisture levels.
Stage IV: Temperatures can be reduced to 66 °C. Transplant plugs as scheduled and do not let plugs get root bound.
6-8 weeks after sowing transplant.
Use a well-drained media, pH 5.5-6.5
Light: Day neutral, but a light summation flowering response. Higher light levels promote shorter, better-branched plants with larger flowers.
Grow at 70-74 °F.
Avoid temperatures below 60 °F
Moderate to high fertilization levels are required.
Fertilize the crop weekly with 100-150 ppm nitrogen, using a complete and balanced fertilizer.
These are Annuals for me (I live in Zone 4).

Tell me about it,...I'm a landscaper! With the Spirea bushes, cut them down in early spring, and they will be a tad bit more manageable. Don't worry, they'll still bloom like there's no tomorrow, they just won't be so out of control. For more tips, p.m. me, -I don't want to give all my secrets away. tee hee BTW, I used to have these Lamb's Tail, but my tall Phlox choked them all out....should I win, I plan on putting these babies elsewhere...

PHLOX is another one that once it takes hold, look out, that is all one has. I'm watching them (so they don't take over). I have at least 15 garden areas (not counting back that is mainly oak and jack pine...which will used the fallen over ones to build our fence post (after Stripping them down of course and coating them ;). I will cut the spirea's down now....we also have the Persian Lilacs that SMELL beautiful and I used to cut them back and then never bloomed, since I let them go...they all bloom like crazy. I swear I have at least 2 dozen garden books, etc. and it is never ending Learning too LOL. My Hosta's are always going nuts and I have to Keep dividing them, but I am getting TOO many now. They are costly at the garden center, have no clue why, because they just get Huge within 1 year and spread...
well....outwinded now..sorry about burning your ear off.
Hope you win these ;)

:)...It is hard sometimes, keeping up on flowers/plants seeds...because I have to mark everything down which is which LOL. I'm already deadheading columbines, of course Chives that go NUTS, Bi-color and Black Petunia's, "Geums" (that are perenials) with pretty little Orange flowers, my pink spirea is going nuts which looks like it gets bigger every year - another one I never listed...some I am trying to keep up.
but with THE Never ending Story of WEEDING, it's a ton of work. I wish you the Best of luck and Thanks again for stopping by at my Listia place ;)
