Description

The listing, Crocheted Messenger Bag from PLARN (Plastic Bags) go GREEN Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!! FREE Shipping!!! has ended.

WOOOOW!!!! Crocheted Messenger Bag from PLARN (Plastic Bags) You'll be going GREEN with one. The 3 R’s Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!!! FREE Shipping!!!!!

Have you seen anything like this!! This would be great as a summer tote trend!!! I came across this crochet pattern and I thought, my Listia friends would love this.
Just think, you can be one of the first at the beach to have one. By going GREEN you can now get rid your growing stash of annoying plastic bags from the grocery store and or Dept stores you keep stashing in the drawer or utility closet. Please see pics.

This pattern is for a crochet Messenger Bag made from PLASTIC BAGS. Everything you need to make this bag is listed in the pattern.

Pic 1 is of finished bag. Bag measures 15-1/2 inches wide and 13” long. The strap length is 42 inches.

Just like any pattern you can increase or decrease your gauge to make a larger or smaller Messenger Bag. May-be a Mother-Daughter set. :)

Pic 2 is of a regular plastic bag.
You will receive instructions on how to make your own PLARN. You can mix and match your color plastic bags for any color messenger bag you want to make.
I went through my bags and I have different colors; yellow, red, grey, red white & blue, brown, white, clear and some black ones.
After the auction has ended I will send you the crochet pattern and instructions on how to make your own PLARN, thru Listia messaging. If you have questions please ask!!! This auction has FREE SHIPPING!!!!!

Not right now, sorry...I'm trying to save my different colored plastic bags as this pattern calls for approx 60 bags. I have more brown bags than any other color right now. I haven't counted them yet. Maybe in a few months I could sell the extras.

Now don't laugh but... this might work for you. I checked my doggie pick-up bags they're black and small. It would take 4 of them to make one regular plastic bag. So for $5. and change, you could pick up 5 pks of 50 at your Dollar Tree Store. Still beats the cost of yarn. I'll be doing this myself. LOL. Let me know what you think OK. :)

Hmmm... I cannot say. I haven't made it yet. It would also depend on how much spare time you have but I'd say a weekend :). Plarn is new to me and I'm still getting my bags together for the making of plarn.

my grandfather used to make rugs using bread bags. We didn't dare through away an empty bag!

So cool!! :) :) Your grandfather reminds me of my mom. She made braided rugs from old nylon stockings (Pantyhose wasn't invented then) and unuseable clothing (rags she would call them). She also made hooked rugs too. She nevered used plastic bags.

my aunt would use odds and ends also for rugs. She taught all of her children..boys included how to crochet and knit when they were little...they made their own slippers in the winter time so she didn't have to make for 7 kids every year!
