John Galliano is a Gibraltarian fashion designer who has been heading the worldwide know fashion label Dior for years. John Galliano himself produced the sketches and artworks depicted on the stamps.

Born in Gibraltar to a Gibraltarian father and a Spanish mother, Galliano moved to Streatham in southwest London at six and later to nearby Dulwich, and attended St. Anthony's RC School and Wilson's Grammar School in London. He attended St Martin's College of Art and Design, where he graduated in 1984 with a first class honours degree. He was awarded British Designer of the Year in 1987, 1994 and 1995. In 1997, he shared the award with Alexander McQueen, Galliano's successor at Givenchy. Media fashion celebrity Susannah Constantine has worked for Galliano in the past. and he has also aided the future success of other designers including the renowned shoe designer Patrick Cox.
