Description

The listing, EPIPHYLLUM Fragrant Blooming Orchid Cactus (3 "ears") Live Succulent!!! has ended.

The botanical name for this plant is "Epiphyllum" and it is a true beauty for any grower of things!
You are bidding on a very large and healthy cutting from my Fragrant Blooming Orchid Cactus. At the time of this listing it was just over 10", but it will get bigger. When it arrives to you just plant it it soil and keep wet, but drained, for about 10 days. Then treat it like any other succulent. Water when it is dry.
You will receive the exact plant shown in pictures 2-3. The first is my mother plant that I've had for a very long time. The last picture is stock to show a bloom. Mine blooms in cycles, and indeed the blooms are a lovely pink.

I have had this identical plant for over 27 years, easy to start. However, you need to know it only blooms every 7 years, in the middle of the night, and the bloom dies off in the morning.

Thanks for the information. Perhaps we have slightly different plants. I too have had mine for many years and I find it blooms in rather random spurts. I have indeed read the white blooming variety only bloom at night, however that does not seem to be the case with this. You are correct that the blooms are shorts lived, but the smell is wonderful. Cheers and again thanks!

How easy is this to grow?

I think quite easy. It likes filtered sun light and well drained soil. Grows pretty fast. Thanks.

The cutting up for auction, is the one pictured in your hand?

Yes, exactly. It has been rooting in soil since the beginning of the auction and is thriving. Good luck and thanks for the question.
