The listing, Geekery Clock Handmade from Vinyl LP and Keyboard Keys has ended.
I am a silversmith and jewelry artist by trade but I also love to upcycle unused items into functional art. This clock was made from a vintage 1981 Arista LP with music by Air Supply. I hate to admit that I remember some of the 'hits' on this album like "Here I Am" and "The One That You Love." This wasn't my record (I was more into Led Zeppelin and The Doors) but it was scratched an no longer playable. It has been molded so the edges curve upward, like the edges of a platter or bowl. The numbers on the clock, F1 through F12, were reclaimed from a computer keyboard. The clock has been embellished with vintage jewelry components reclaimed from the same era. The colors and shapes of the jewelry components and keyboard keys coordinate with the album label. The keyboad numbers and jewelry components were glued on with jeweler's epoxy. The clock movement and hands were new at the time this clock was created in 2008. It has been carefully stored away and never used. It is signed on the back with my name and the date. All it needs is a battery and some wall or shelf space! I made these clocks for everyone in my family for Christmas in 2008 but had a few left over so I thought Listia would be the perfect place to find homes for them.
