The listing, Turquoise and Silver Ring..check it out!!! has ended.
Welcome to my auction. This ring is very unique. Not sure where it came from but it looks old. The band on the inside says STERLING otherwise I do not see any other markings. Please ask questions before bidding. I list my stuff as is. What you see is what you are getting. No buyers remorse and all listia rules apply. Please be verified before bidding.
I cleaned it with toothpaste and soft toothbrush nothing harsh and it did clean up and is really a pretty ring. Posted a few more pictures of it and got a few decent shots of the cleaned ring. Looks better in person as most things do.
Fanned you and watching! I was just diagnosed with Cancer for the 4th time now and I thought this would bwe a nice gift to me and I can pass on to my daughter who loves Turquoise too!!! Thank You Hope to win Maybe if I can afford it!
I wish it were my size. Just FYI, it is a vintage ring. They were popular in the '70's. This is a great item and I hope people bid well. It's worth it.
It appears to be possibly Native American, Zuni , or Navajo , I believe the color to indicate it is older (color is very good!) Hard to be sure from the photos , but yes Robin is right these were very popular in the 1970's and highly collectible today, because the turquoise of this color is from a particular mine , now closed http://www.silversunalbuquerque.com/m-sleeping_beauty.htm While it was in production they produced 1600 pounds a month, but it's been closed for some time, and not likely to reopen. The style of this ring is called "needlepoint " I believe with the long thin stones, and those two are highly sought after. Do you see anything on it like a mark that might look like a picture or something? Some of the jewelers used "pictographs" like a bear , or the sun , some signed with names , some with scratched signatures, some only letter , some didn't sign at all. It's sometimes referred to as "Old Pawn" or "Dead Pawn" meaning it was sold to a Pawn shop , then probably resold again. Some pieces have changed hands many times.
