Began in Haverhill, later in Boston This mark was the silver makers first mark so this was made between 1810-1854....it's 5 1/2 in. Long...may be a dessert spoon or child's spoon as it's a bit shorter than most coin teaspoons..in good condition for its age...A few pings in the bowl..probably teeth marks....this has no monogram which is unusual in itself as most pieces were engraved with the owners name or initials....this is a real piece of history!!...between 160 and 200 years old....weight is 8 gr....
Just to clarify....coin silver IS. NOT NiCKEL SILVER....nickel silver has zero percent silver content...it only has the appearance of silver....coin silver is 90% pure silver....after 1870 the word sterling was used on pure silver....coin was usually marked with the word coin, the makers name, or the makers initials and sometimes a hallmark in the US....
