The listing, ANTIQUE OR VINTAGE "LANE" MINIATURE CEDAR CHEST BOX GREAT CONDITION ESTATE FIND has ended.

For your consideration is this wonderful promotional item from Lane. They gave out these vintage miniature Lane cedar chests for purchases at at a retail store and I was told some high school grads were given them years ago. This box reads: Lane presented by McAlpin's Cherry Grove Cincinnati, Ohio. When you open it you smell that cedar everytime. It has good strong hinges and a wonderful finish. I'm not sure if there was a finishing error or something spilled on the top but you can see a little something on the lid. I tried to get it to show up in the pictures. It looks clear so it's hard to see it. Also on the inside edge of the box it looks like there's a bit of red nail polish as shown on the picture. Not perfect but in pretty good shape for its age. No key as this was an estate find but I'm sure any locksmith can give you one. I'll look around to see if i have one and will update if I find one. Really nice little collectible box. I graduated high school in 1982 in Mississippi. All the seniors at that time were given Lane chests the same as this shown from a local store. I'm not sure of the store's name or if it came directly from the Lane company. I still have mine but I sprung the hinges from stuffing too much "junk" in it.

It's a nice collectible. You'll be glad you kept it in years to come. Lane was not so generous to my graduating class. Lol. Nor when I ordered the last two sofas from them. Lol

You were told correctly. I graduated in 72 and my mom graduated in 53. I know from her to me, everyone got one. I'm not sure when they stopped but they were given to high school senior girls. I had 2 and don't know what ever happened to either. I was thrilled to see this one. :)

I had a huge cedar chest while i was growing up and everytime i would open it up i would close my eyes and breath in the wonderful smell of cedar. Just looking at this cedar box brings back memories. Great auction. FW.
