This box has been part of my rustic decor for 30 years or more!!! It is a nice find...great for holding special treasures!!! Rub it down with some Old English or Lemon Oil and all the inlaid veneer details will appear!!!
No GIN...Vodka...JD...etc.!!!:D

Yes...it is a bird on the lid!!! It looks like a peacock with its tail down!!! I would put some Old English on the box...and if you want it to last more permanently...paint a clear layer of polyurethane on it!!!:-)
