I have no idea, it actually doesn't look broken as there is an end on the last bead. This is very old from Italy. TY for asking :o)

To answer the question by "freelin", it is a broken rosary. There should be 5 decades of beads attached to this so basically you will be just bidding on a crucifix. You can take the crucifix and attach it to some rosary beads if needed. Great auction non-the-less.
